GREATNESS - for Wednesday, October 9 Read: “God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God.” Romans 8:26-27 (MSG) Review: The third member of the Godhead speaks to the first member of the Godhead by praying the groanings of those who are in the second member of the Godhead. He does not do this to break down God’s resistance; he does it because He loves you and wants to help. Respond: Read 2 Corinthians 12:8-9. Confess to God the times your prayers have been inconsistent with His purposes for your life (the times you did not get what you prayed for). Write down some of the ways the Holy Spirit was at work in your life during those times even though you did not get what you prayed for. Thank God for redeeming the groan when you wanted Him to remove it. Share this with a close friend.
