GURGAON: A couple was harassed and robbed in the Ghata area on the Gurgaon-Faridabad road, where they had driven to for a morning walk on Sunday. An FIR has been lodged against two persons. According to police, Umesh Gupta (42)—an IT firm promoter—and his wife, residents of Sector 56, drove to Golf Course Extension and parked their car on the road. They then went to the hilly area for a walk. The area is frequented by nature lovers and is neither remote nor inaccessible. After 15 minutes, when the couple sat down for a breather, two persons made a few comments at Guptas wife. Gupta said he initially thought they were talking among themselves, but on being alerted by his wife, he became aware of the imminent danger. By then, the two persons had started chasing them. It happened around 11 am near Ghata. After they chased us, we rushed to our car and found its rear windscreen damaged with a big stone, and a rear tyre deflated. We were so terrified that we drove away with the deflated tyre to the main road and then called police, Gupta said. The Ghata area where the couple had gone for their morning walk. Gupta said cops from Sector 56 police station immediately accompanied him to the spot and took fingerprints from the car. The policemen were accompanied by sniffer dogs. The police didnt reveal what clues they had picked up but said the two suspects would be caught soon.
