GUS BROWN THE BAND is the feature band for this week... Gus Brown Gus Brown is a band brought together by a serious passion for acoustic music. Comprised of brothers, Dale and Nick Vickery, and Gavin Welsh, their original blend of up-beat acoustic has a distinct flavour that they have dubbed ‘folk funk’. The trio hail from Warner Beach, and are named after the street where they first met up and jammed at a friend’s house. After years of writing and playing, the bothers were introduced to Gavin through mutual friends, and after lots of braaing, jamming and drinking beer "GUS BROWN" was born! Gigging up and down the coast – Gus Brown has been putting in the miles to spread the word of ‘folk funk’ far and wide, with their catchy riffs and powerful vocals.
