Gabbi Update: Matt Cook Gabbi is cancer free! She has been “cancer free” for a few months but it was nice to hear our oncologist say it today at her 3 month post-chemo checkup. They didn’t even have to do a CT scan because this type of cancer will show itself through a certain type of protein level (AFP) they can check in bloodwork. Gabbi’s AFP is normal so the protocol is to not even do a CT scan at this point. Next Friday, August 30th, she will have her port removed. That is a big step as we hopefully are concluding the cancer part of this journey. This is a same-day surgical procedure. Please pray that this goes well and that her liver numbers continue to improve. We’ll update you before the surgery. Thanks for your prayers and concern.
