Gabe and Mamacita were waiting for me again this morning. Several people stopped by and thanked me. I also got an earful about how those dogs have been treated -- or neglected, more accurately. BIG BREAKTHROUGH!! Gabe sniffed my fingers this morning. He wouldnt take the kibbles but he did eat them when I dropped them in front of him. Bit of background, here. Ive decided to call the mama Ouiser (she aint as sweet as she used to be ). She would be fantastic as an only-dog. Shes very affectionate toward humans but she is an aggressive resource-hoarder. She wouldnt let Gabe near the dish and attempted to run him off after she had already eaten a serving of kibbles and a can of wet food. I held her back and petted on her while Gabe had a turn. It looks as if Gabe has been treated as an Omega all his life. No wonder hes fearful. Humans have failed him. His doggy-family pick on him. It seems that Im the only human who has attempted to make friends with him. He saw that I would feed him just-special and I wouldnt make any negative moves with him as he sniffed my fingers. His comfort zone has gone from about 20 feet to around three. He wants to make friends really badly and hes working on figuring out how thats supposed to go. I cant take Ouiser. She would turn my ordered pack into complete chaos. Ive got enough on my hands. Gabe can be integrated. Hes not aggressive in any way, shape, or form. The girls will accept him. Pack upsets would be fairly brief. I hope someone can give Ouiser a home soon. Shed make a fantastic companion for someone who doesnt have a dog and could use a friend. No lie, she could use one, too. He sniffed my fingers. Im totally on a cloud.
