Gaheez- The Rising Afghanistan A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step: This picture was taken in 2002. we hardly believed we would be beating teams like Scotland and Ireland in 2013. These teams with all the financial and technical resources , and more experience shake when they face Afghanistan; we had almost defeated the world champion India. Not only Cricket, look at Taekwondo, Football and other games. We are making our presence felt. BUT all that is part of the history. Ten years from now the page would like to be posting for Semi Finalist and Finalist of World Cricket cup Afghan team. The same sports aspect is visible in the development of the country too. Who could dream of Universities, private schools, hospitals, communication, infrastructure that we have today. Yes, a lot could have been done and undone but what we could dream of what we have in 1999? Like Afghanistan Cricket team, Afghan nation would explore new horizons of prosperity. The pessimists would be proved right if the YOUTH did not wake up to change the destiny of this country. We Will Rise and Shine .... InshAllah..!!!
