Gallery 14 presents a Special Show in October, Its All About Us: Celebrating the Work of Lila Blakeslee and Barbara Landry_ Throughout the coming season. Gallery 14 will have special exhibits highlighting work by the owner-partners. The month of October will have be a showing of paintings by two award winning aritsts, Lila Blakeslee and Barbara Landry. Lila, known internationally for her equestrian paintings, has been a leader in the creation and growth of the Downtown Arts District. Her dramatic and meticulous work is collected by olympic riders, polo professionals, and patrons around the world and is often featured on the covers of equestrian publications. She has recently begun to paint ocean and water scenes, often incorporating creatures of the sea. Highlighted as well, will be Barbara Landry, a two time Easter Seal artist, and painter of diverse subjects, including European scenes, flora and fauna, and animals. Her colorful pieces are found in many public and private collections, including the Inidan River County Administration Building, The Florida State Capital in Talahassee, and the Superior Court of California. The exhibit, which runs from October 1 through November 1, will have a special reception on Friday October 3 from 5-8pm, to coordinate with the Historic Downtown Arts District First Friday Gallery Stroll. Also on view, will be work in watercolor, acrylic, graphite, mixed media, collage, jewelry, photography, ceramics and sculpture, by Gallery 14 partners: Edgardo Abello, Cheri Cruden, Barbara du Pont, Mary Ann Hall, Virginia Knapp, Deborah Morrell Polackwich, Dorothy Napp Schindel and represented artists: Carol Staub, Bryan Beck, Francis Mesaros, Joan Earnhart, Terry Green, Walford Campbell, Viola Pace Knudsen and Emily Heinzel.
