Gang Crime Squad officers have charged a senior member of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang after an incident in which it will be alleged the accused attempted to evade police in Munster on Thursday 12 June 2014. About 9:15pm police officers attempted to stop a Subaru on Stock Road. The driver failed to stop and attempted to evade police. It will be alleged the driver reached speeds of approximately 200km/hr in his efforts to evade police. Whilst there was little other traffic on the road at the time, due to the dangerous manner of driving by the offender the police vehicles followed at a slower speed under the control of the Police Operations Centre and the crew on board a police helicopter monitored its movements safely from the air. It appears the engine on the target vehicle experienced problems shortly after the police officers attempted to stop it and it slowly came to rest at which point the police vehicles arrived and surrounded the offender. It will be further alleged the accused threw items out of the vehicle as it was slowing down. A 40 year old man from East Riverton was arrested at the scene and he has since been charged with: - 2 x Fail to Stop - Reckless Driving – Dangerous to the Public (to escape police) - Possess a Prohibited Drug with Intent to Sell/Supply (Methylamphetamine) - Wilfully Destroy Evidence - Possessing Stolen or Unlawfully Obtained Property (Cash) As part of other inquiries the accused was also charged with: - Offer to Sell or Supply a Prohibited Drug (Testosterone) - 2 x Conspiracy to Sell/Supply a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine) The accused was refused bail and appeared in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on Friday 13 June 2014. He is next due to appear in the same court on 20 June 2014.
