Gangtok the capital of sikkim is a cosmopolitan city which deserves better care, planning, perfect infrastructure guided by better leadership. Every candidate from different political parties are promising that they will make parking space,children park, etc but as we know most of the places in Gangtok has less space for everything and is concrete jungle of cement structures all around. How is it going to happen? What is the solution? The answer is very simple : a) first we need to construct a well set up UD&HD department which at the moment is in a shabby condition. Make it working environment friendly so that the common man can just walk in and walk out with a smile in his face. b) GMC is the vital part of urban area and the minister, Mayor and councillors should work together as a team and keep the theory of WEGO instead of EGO. c) these two departments that is UD&HD and GMC decides the fate of all the major issues of urban areas so an area MLA should work hand in hand with its officials. He should have the attitude of positive leadership instead of I AM THE BOSS ATTITUDE. d) The area MLA should not pressurise the employees working in these department. He or she should be free from all political pressure and an area MLA should defend them and if victimised he should raise these issues in the assembly and not to disturb the govt employees with their works. e) the area Mla should give all his ears to town planners to these department as they will be the ones who will guide the area Mla and show what, why ,how and where a parking space and children park can be built. To conclude an area Mla should should be bold n smart enough to simplify the process and not give any harassment to the general public.Things can work out if area MLA has the vision to plan it out.
