Gani Muhammed MIMIKO : REASON WHY HE HAD A CONFERENCE ROOM DECAMPING. MIMIKO NO LONGER ENJOYS THE INITIAL CONFIDENCE OF ABUJA PDP ! Ondo chapter of PDP is winning this struggle. It will be recalled few months ago that Barr. Tolu Babaleye wrote a strongly worded letter to Dr. Olusegun Mimiko when he attempted to impeach Alhaji Ali Olanusi, Ondo state Deputy Gov. , on the account of the latter wanting to defect to PDP along with twelve other members of Ondo State House of Assembly. The final straw came when the need arose to replace the late speaker of the House of Assembly and the House got fragmented along those who wanted another member as the speaker other than the lady presently occupying the seat. Remember that the budget of the state for the 2014 fiscal year was approved by a fraction of the House. While the Deputy-Gov. faced the impeachment threat from Mimiko for his attempted defection , those members of the House were kept under a perpetual threat of punishment and they have been denied their rights and privileges as members of the House. When they could no longer bear the hardship occasioned by this , through Senator Kunlere of Ondo South senatorial district , they approached the presidency with the help of Sen. David Mark and a thorough investigation by president Jonathan it was revealed that Mimiko actually issued those threats and the denial of rights and privileges of the members of the House. This caused Mr. President to invite Dr. Mimiko to Abuja on Monday 18 , August and in the presence of some National leaders of PDP , particularly those who are known friends of Mimiko , Mr. President charged at Mimiko that he had supported him all through his presidency and he was surprised that he , Mimiko , could issue threat against whosoever might want to join his party , PDP , since he believed that Mimiko was a friendly friend of the party. Mr. President thereby instructed the party leaders present at the meeting to arrange with Alhaji Ali Olanusi , Sen. Kunlere and the twelve House members on their movement to PDP and nothing would happen to them. All this happened in the presence of Mimiko and the president left the meeting immediately. Further attempts by Mimiko to reach the president immediately after the meeting proved abortive which accounted for extra days Mimiko spent in Abuja , and he was advised by his Abuja friends to defect to PDP even before those of Sen. Kunlere , Olanusi and the twelve in order to make it appears as if he led them to the party. The sudden defection of Mimiko was caused by the attempt to beat them to it , which resulted in the rude shock to his members , LP , who felt they had not been carried along and two of his cabinet members stating contradictory stories about the defection. Mimiko made several attempts before he secured the help of his friend , David Mark , who hurriedly arranged bedroom decamping. In fact his inability to have his decamping discussed at party level made him to describe the news of his defection a rumour recently , a subtle blackmail , when nobody was talking about it again. Trust PDP if a sitting governor is decamping in Abuja , particularly inside the villa and the president in right inside the same villa but was not at the ceremony , national party chairman not present and Chief Aneni , the BOT Chairman , in Abuja but not present ! We know what Mimiko doesnt know about Abuja new attitude. Think !
