Gardaí in Cork are appealing for information about a hit and run involving a small girl over the weekend. The driver of a small red car, with a number plate containing the letters and numbers 00 C, hit a three-year-old girl on Sunday evening at Carberry Grove, Knocknaheeney in Cork city. After the incident - which happened between 8.40pm and 9.40pm - the car paused before driving off towards Courtown Drive and then to Kilmore Road. The girl was taken to Cork University Hospital with minor injuries and has since been released. Investigators want to speak to the man in his 50s who was driving the car. He is described as having grey hair, a grey beard and glasses and was wearing a muscle top and jeans.
