Garden Gateway Workshop & Community Bike Ride Learn a variety of strategies for propagating plants – from planting seeds to starting plants from cuttings - Then join us for a community bike ride to healthy food outlets in South LA! Bring your own bike! Don’t have a helmet? Don’t worry - We’ll give you one! Our monthly hands-on workshops teach you how to grow food using natural and sustainable methods that’s dont rely on chemical fertilizers or pesticides and prepare healthy dishes using produce from your garden! Participants will be given FREE gardening supplies and fresh produce to take home so you can put gardening strategies and new cooking skills to use right away! This months workshop will end with a bike safety presentation and a group bike ride using the Healthy Food South LA Walk & Bike Map ridesouthla/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/RSLA_healthy_food_FINAL_lores-Dec20.pdf. Helmets will be available for garden gateway workshop participants who stay for the bike ride! Please arrive on time and come prepared to stay for the entire workshop. You will be taking part in hands on gardening activities so please dress appropriately in layers and clothes and shoes you dont mind getting dirty.
