The development of tourism on Boavista raises questions about sustainability and the effects on the islands unique (underwater)nature. Time to document Boavistas present situation! At the same time you can feel the beginning tension caused by tourists who want to dive, surf and ride quads, but apparently prefer fish from elsewhere, while the locals cant sell their local fish... But I was happy to see promising local initiatives (voluntary no-take zone, turtle protection and true love for marine wildlife).
