Gauteng Jewry celebrated 20 years of Democracy at the SAJBD Gauteng Conference in Sandton this afternoon. Hundreds of community members focused on the successful transformation in our country and Province. MEC Lusufi standing in for Premier Makhura who had been called to a meeting at the Union Buildings praised the role that members of the SA Jewish community had played in the struggle for democracy. He also encouraged Gauteng Jewry to continue playing a role in developing our Province. Attempts to intimidate the Jewish community in no way dampened the celebration of democracy by Gauteng Jewry.
