Obi of Onitsha curses APC, Ngige# .......…Onitsha monarch angry with Ngige over rally Daily Sun gathered that the incident occurred when members of APC, including the national leader and three other serving governors stormed the commercial city of Onitsha yesterday to campaign for Ngige while the Obi of Onitsha was celebrating his Ofala festival. Irked by the development, Igwe Achebe said he was surprised that APC and its governorship candidate, Senator Ngige, could launch their governorship campaign in Onitsha the same day he was celebrating his Ofala festival despite the one-year notice given to that effect. Igwe Achebe, while praying at the Imeobi as part of activities, marking this year’s Ofala festival, sponsored by Globacom, said: “Today, a political party has chosen to launch its campaign for governorship in Onitsha at the same time the Ofala is going on despite the one-year notice we gave to them. If anybody defiles the land, the land shall defile the person,” he said.
