Geelani, Mirwaiz, Shah, Malik, others greet people on Eid Srinagar, July 28: Extending Eid greetings to Kashmir people, chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani Monday appealed people to celebrate the festival with austerity and according to the Islamic principles. While reiterating his appeal for 30 minutes token peaceful protest demonstration after the Eid prayers against the Israeli terrorism in Gaza, the octogenarian leader said: when we would be celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr with our families, we should not forget the infants and women of Gaza who are being cutoff into pieces by Israel. We should also not forget the hopeless parents, widows and children of those who were martyred in Jammu & Kashmir or who are in jails or who were subjected to the custodial disappearance, he said. The pro-freedom leader said: Omar Abdullah government has although placed him under house detention from last four years but nether am I ignorant about the sufferings of my nation and nor am I unaware about the cunning policies of new government of India regarding Kashmir. While following the RSS agenda in Kashmir, Narendra Modi government have not only formally started the process of converting the Muslim majority of the state into the minorities but they want to eliminate the Muslim identity of this region and want to setup the mark of their idolatrous culture here, he said. The pro-freedom leader in the Eid message said that this situation demands that Muslims of the world should rise above the group and sect differences for the unity and they should formulate a joint strategy for their protection. Extending Eid greetings to the Ummah, the chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Umar Farooq urged the Muslims of valley not to forget the poor, needy, orphans, widows and destitute while celebrating this auspicious occasion. He appealed people to remember the martyrs of Gaza. Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chief, Mohammad Yasin Malik also extends his greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) president Shabir Ahmad Shah said, “We cannot forget the people who offered supreme sacrifices of their lives for cause of freedom of our homeland from Indian occupation. Jammu and Kashmir National Front chairman Nayeem Ahmed Khan, while greeting the Muslims of Jammu Kashmir, appealed to them to ensure that the affected families of the ongoing freedom movement and in Gaza also celebrated this auspicious occasion.
