Geelani calls for Kondabal, Markandal chalo on Wednesday Mainstream parties should resign than shedding crocodile tears Srinagar, July 1:Terming the statement issued by army as “ridiculous” Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani today said such announcements are being made to quell anger and pacify the aggravated sentiments of people. He also appealed people to organize protest demonstration after Friday prayers against the brutal killings of youth. “The authorities are not sincere and no probe would be initiated nor will be any punishment awarded to perpetrators,” Geelani in a statement issued to Global News Service said, adding that on July3, people from District Ganderbal and Bandipora would organize protest rally towards Kondabal and Markandal villages. He said that administration and forces after every such incident come with illogical statements and express sorrow and grief. “Now it has become a routine process forthem to make tall claims with respect to investigations and later hush up the case files.” Geelani said that forces are not accountable for their evil deeds and they under the garb of AFSPA enjoy impunity and are authorized to kill any Kashmiri unaccounted. He said the state administration is equally responsible for brutal killings of innocent Kashmiris. “Omar Abdullah, as chief of Unified Command Council, bestows awards and rewards to those personals involved in these killings.” The Hurriyat Chairman said Omar Abdullah and other leaders of the state are not in a position to take action against killers. “However, after such incidents, they have only one option to act, it is to regard their conscience and submit resignation.” “The resignation could send a message to the world that really something wrong is happening in Kashmir,” he added. Hurriyat Chairman urged human rights organizations to take cognizance of such killings and stress to make India accountable for its suppressive and repressive measures in Kashmir. Chairman Hurriyat while expressing his deep sorrow over the brutal killings said that as per program the special prayers will be organized for martyrs and people would extend their sympathy with the bereaved families.
