Geelani calls for shutdown on Tomorrow Srinagar, January 22: Chairman Hurriyat Syed Ali Geelani termed the recent reprinting of the sketches of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in France as Jewish journalistic hooliganism and called for complete shutdown and protest demonstration against this act on 23 January Friday. He said that any act of dishonor against the Prophet of Islam (SAW) is unacceptable for every Muslim of the world and to raise voice against this act is the matter of faith for every Muslim. In a press release to Sachnews Jammu Kashmir from New Delhi, Geelani sahib said that the first priority of every civilized society is the protection of life, property and dignity of a human being and every human being is given a due respect but under a well designed policy, the west in the name of so-called freedom of expression is freely insulting and abusing the faith and the religion of the Muslims. He said that the big print and electronic media houses of the world are running under the influence of Zionist forces and they are prejudiced towards the Muslims and they term it as their religious duty. Geelani sahib said that publishing of blasphemous sketches of the Prophet of Islam (SAW) by the Charli Hibbdo in Paris is not any co-incident but it is an act of a big plan and it serves many purposes of the Jewish lobby. On the one hand the Muslims are insulted and abused and on the other hand when the Muslims react to these acts, they get a chance to label them as extremists and terrorists. The Islamic leader of Kashmir said that it is the duty of every Muslims to raise his voice against this situation and any negligence in this matter is against his faith and belief. He appealed the Traders, Transporters, Employees and the people from every walk of life to make the shutdown call of 23 January a success and express your love and affection with the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
