Geelani calls for shutdownTomorrow Sachnews Jammu Kashmir Srinagar, November 04: Strongly condemning the killing of two youths of Nowgam by RR-53, chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Geelani has called for a complete shutdown tomorrow. On his return from New Delhi at about 3 p.m. after a medical checkup. As soon as Geelani landed at Srinagar Airport, police party who were already present their brought him home in custody and kept him under house arrest at his Hyderpora residence. Geelani has appealed people to observe a complete shut down on 5th of November, 2014 to protest against the killing of innocent boys at Chattergam and appealed to all sections of the society including the people in trade and commerce, in transport, education to fallow bandh call against this brutal act of barbarism. After the recent floods that has devastated whole of the valley, Govt. of India is showing imperialism in the name of democracy. The arrests have become a routine matter. Our youth are being killed. Police also confirmed the reports that they were unarmed and without any illegal material in possession nor they were affiliated to any militant organization. Under these circumstances the youth being killed is a known case of brutality and barbarism. The two youth namely Faisal Yousf Bhat resident of Bonpora Nowgam and Mehraj-ud-din Dar resident of Nowgam Chowk were martyred on spot whileas the two youth who were critically injured and were arrested in injured conditions. Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference said that the youth are battling for life and it is a great tragedy for whole of the nation is unacceptable. We express our sorrow and anger against these nefarious designs. Geelani sahab further said that Govt. of India is doing all the acts of brutality and this is not a new thing for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. For the last 67 years the oppressed nation is witness to these bloody scenes. While representing the aspirations of oppressed nation Geelani said that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and is not an integral part of India. People have given lot of sacrifices and it is the pledge of this nation that we continue our struggle upto our goal. He further said that BJP want extension of its government and has started its nefarious designs which is an alarming situation for the people of the Jammu and Kashmir especially Muslims. That is why we make an humble appeal that our people should not become a saleable commodity. They should face these nefarious designs of the BJP by showing their self consciousness and self respect and make their designs a complete failure. Press and publicity division APHC
