Geelani hits out at Omar #khan *zahoor Srinagar, Oct, 22: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Tuesday came down heavily on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accusing him to “trying to appease New Delhi” by demanding action against Pakistan over recent skirmishes on Line of Control (LoC). “Omar Abdullah has inherited enmity for Pakistan from his father (Dr Farooq Abdullah). It is their favorite game that they in their abusive language always scold Pakistan,” Geelani said in a statement. He was referring to recent statement of Omar Abdullah wherein he had suggested New Delhi “to look at other options, incase Pakistan does not stop violating ceasefire”. “His (Omar’s) father also advised several times to attack Pakistan administered Kashmir. It is favorite hobby for National Conference that whenever people in Delhi turn their eyes towards them, they in order to appease them are left with only choice to curse Pakistan,” he said. Geelani said, “such rhetoric may be an attempt to bargain for the funds which they have received from army.” “It is preplanned and a part of their folly and its sole purpose is to defame freedom struggle of people of Kashmiris. The violations on ceasefire line and insurgency is nothing but a propaganda to lead to a proxy war and project that people of Kashmir are satisfied with India to mislead the international community,” he said. “Indian leaders are in a fix about the ongoing situation at borders and even have raised several questions about the situation and the contradictory statements made by armed forces. However Omar Abdullah while ignoring the ground realities has blamed Pakistan .It is not his jurisdiction nor he can announce a war against Pakistan,” Geelani said. “They (Abdullahs) are playing a folly and election stunt. For their mean interests, they at times attribute importance to Pakistan as an important and prime party for the issue and suggest a dialogue process and now are pleading for alternatives and befitting reply to Pakistan,” he said. Geelani alleged that, “India intends to play a role of big brother in the sub-continent and for this they have plotted to attack Pakistan administered Kashmir.” Reiterating his demand for resolution of Kashmir as per the aspirations of the people, Geelani said, “a war between the two cannot be ruled out and unless the dispute is resolved, the borders will remain tense.” “I want to reiterate my stand that Kashmir is not a border dispute between India and Pakistan, Instead it is an issue related to 13 million people who face immense hardships. India in a method of breaking the will of the people has planned genocide in Kashmir and on the other hand the poor Kashmiris are being killed during border skirmishes,” #khan Brothers & co.
