Gen 1:3-5 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Gen 8:22-9:1 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. As I listened to a young man talk about the sun yesterday. He spoke of its ability and design to bring forth light. He spoke of it being an immovable light source and how the other planets in our solar system rotate around it. As he spoke about the sun the Lord began to speak into my heart the relationship of the sun and the earth and correlate that to the relationship we have with the Son. As the earth orbits the sun there is a drifting in and out of proximity to the sun. As the earth drifts further away there is a cooling affect on the planet. It would be these times that we see the seasonal divide of this orbiting around the sun. As we begin to orbit further away from the sun we see the planet begins to show the signs of what is occurring. The leaves on the trees begin to lose the green color and turn other colors, red, yellow, brown, you know the colors of autumn. Though it is spectacular to our eyes as we watch this we know it is but the beginning of a cooler season. Never the less the leaves turn colors and some change many times as they sit upon the tree and the earth continues its drifting away from the sun. Soon the color change gives way to a release. The leaf no longer remains on the tree but falls to the ground. One of the things I notice about the leaf is that as long as it stayed connected to the tree it remained soft, moist, and pliable. However, once it released the tree and fell to the ground it became very fragile, brittle, and dry. The leaves have now found their way to the ground, the earth still continues its response to the orbiting further away from the sun. The grass of the field begins to lose its lavish green color and turns to a dormant state of brown. No growth just dry brittle brown fields of grass. Before long the large bountiful trees and the green fields of plenty turn to a valley of dry bones, bones that once had life, bones that once supplied shade from the heat of the day and light so bright and abundantly shinning, a valley of dry bones that once held the nest of the fowl of the air to keep some of the enemy away from their young till they could fly. The earth continues the course of orbit and before long a storm approaches. A storm that once would supply the much needed rain for the lavish trees and the lush green grass now brings forth a burial blanket to cover this valley of dry bones, a blanket that would hide the dry bones that lay in the field. It would supply a blanket that would hide the dry brittle barren grass that no longer has any sign of life but is dormant, non growing and unappealing to the eyes. As time goes on the earth continues its orbit. We know that in this orbit there is a cycle. We know that this blanket of death that lies over the field of dry bones will soon have to give way. As the cycle of orbiting continues the earth inevitably begins to draw closer to the sun. As the earth draws closer to the sun the death blanket begins to melt and withdraw itself from the covering of the valley of dry bones. As the blanket is withdrawn there is still a remnant of the dry brittle leaves still on the ground. Many of been absorbed by the surroundings and have become part of the earth no longer looking like or even remembered as being leaves at any time for their continence has changed to such a degree they are not recognizable as their former and now have taken on a new role and never again able to be leaves again. Soon the earth draws even closer to the sun in its orbit. The temperature of the planet begins to increase and there is now no longer even a remnant of the death blanket that once covered the valley. As the earth continues the orbit there is a changing to the trees. Budding has begun. The empty trees begin their transformation to become what it once was. The tree puts on buds, then small leaves. Nothing like the leaves that once were but small little green chutes begin to show themselves on the tree. The earth continues its orbit and drawing closer to the sun on a continous basis. The grass of the field begins to change its color and sheds the brown color of the dead field and placing on the garment of green. The chutes turn to leaves and increase in size until you can no longer see the trunk of the tree for it is well hidden within the leaves and branches of the tree. Life has returned to the tree. It once again can become useful for shade, and nesting and homes to other creatures supplying a place of retreat and safety for some fowl and smaller animals. Gen 1 1:1 In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Aren’t you glad for the time of the day. For a time that the light shines upon us and we are able to navigate this journey in a time of light? 6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. God created a division between the waters and the firmament and called the firmament Heaven. Know that it was intended from creation that Heaven is separate from everything else. That means that those who occupy Heaven are also separate from the others. They don’t do the things that the others do, they don’t go to the same places the others go well because there is no Heaven in those places. 9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. Separation yet again. God is a God of order and he always separates the Holy from the unholy and he expects us to do the same things. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day. 14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. In all of creation God created the greater light to rule the day and the lessor light to rule the night. Does this not depict even unto scripture we find in the New Testament. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Be ye separate. Holiness=separation from the world dedication to God. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. God saw that is was good to divide the day form the night. He saw that it was good to divide the light from the darkness. He saw that it was good to create the division between the light and the dark. God saw that it was good to have a separation. Did I make that plain enough? Skipping to vs 26 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. God gave you dominion. Here in is the issue. Notice how verse 26 begins? It says let us make man in our own image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over…. Verse 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female… You want dominion? You want the power? You want the authority? You are going to have to return to His image. You are going to have to look like Him, act like Him, talk like Him. You are going to have to return to HIS image. How do you do that? Back to the orbiting of the earth. God created all things to function in order. God is not the author of confusion. He plans things purposefully and they ALWAYS fulfill HIS plan. The earth in its orbit cycles through the life and death over and over and over. It is so predictable we schedule vacations, family reunions and the such around these cycles. I have known for so long how the earth and the seasons depict the very plan of salvation through the death of fall, burial of winter, the resurrection of spring, and the life of summer. I did however miss how this same cycle proved to me over and over how to take dominion, how to have life and have it more abundantly. I hope that what I am about to say will bring you to a place that blesses you as to how God has practiced and demonstrated through the orbit of the earth not only the plan of salvation but how to return to being in His image or looking, being, or should I say becoming like Him. We have a great advantage over the earth. Whereby the earth has an orbit set by God, God gave us the option of our orbit. What am I saying? I am saying he left it up to us. Yes we travel physically on the earth as it orbits the sun, but it in no way affects how we orbit the SON. If we will draw closer to the SON we can experience the abundance of life the earth enjoys through the cycle of spring and summer with this advantage. We don’t ever, nor is it God’s desire for us to, ever cycle further away from the SON. We must continue to draw closer and closer to the SON. Unlike the earth which would burn up if it gets too close to the sun, we grow more and more life, as we draw closer to the SON.
