Gen 44-46: As I reflect on this passage and how God can take the bad in our life and use it for His ultimate plan, it overwhelms me as it did Joseph. As a child of 6, I started to understand that the Lord loved me even if no one else seemed to care and a few years later coming to better understanding of that the Creator of this Universe desired for me to surrender my whole life to Him. So now as I look back to this day 40 years ago and think of all God has brought me through the times when nothing made sense, the times when I could not understand what He was doing, I am so grateful that He alone gave me the faith and strength to trust Him. (For those who have heard my testimony, you know that it was not an easy journey.) Not by anything that I did or deserved but just because He chose to love me first. Wow that in itself humbles me again. I have been blessed beyond measure. May I never forget or get over the awesomeness of His salvation/relationship. So like God to bless me this weekend I to allow me to go back to Alabaster/Birmingham and spend some great moments with friends and a church who played a significant part of my life journey. The memories were sweet as I looked back at all God has done and continues to do through those I have run the race with. So like God though, He brought to Westwood fellow sojourners from Louisville to remind me that a wonderful future lies ahead. Just as in Josephs life when he experienced reunion with his family, God still had future plans for them in Egypt with new adventures and challenges. Deut. 32:4: He is like a rock; what he does is perfect, and he is always fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong, who is right and fair.
