Gen Ata Mohammad Noor appreciated for his lifetime service Balkh.af In a massive gathering held in Balkh Province, Gen Ata Mohammad Noor was praised for his three decades of continuous national service and contribution. The gathering hosted by Jomhor News Agency was attended by two deputies of the CEO, head of Jamiat-e Eslami Afghanistan, deputy of the lower house, at least 120 members of the lower and upper houses, heads and members of provincial councils, jihadi leaders, members of the civil society, reporters, women and the youth. Mujib Mehrdad, university professor and a well-known poet, moderated the gathering. The event started with the recitation of some verses from the Holy Koran. Then the Afghan national anthem was played. A brief documentary was shown about the life of Ata Mohammad Noor. Afterwards, Husseini Madani, in charge of Jomhor News Agency welcomed the audience and briefed them about the event. He called Gen Ata Mohammad Noor a virtuous Mujahed, a national figure and a reputable politician. He talked about the publication of three books and many more articles written about Gen Noor. Meanwhile, Salauddin Rabbani, head of Jamiat-e Eslami Afghanistan appreciated Ata Mohammad Noor for his efficient activities both during the jihad and resistance and for his current good governance. Eng Mohammad Khan, first deputy of the CEO said Ata Mohammad Noor had a special place before the Afghans. Ustad Hajji Mohammad Mohaqeq, second deputy of the CEO and leader of Hezb-e Wahdat-e Eslami Mardom-e Afghanistan talked about the hard times they had spent together during the jihad period and called him an intelligent and wise politician. Moreover, few more speakers talked about the personality of Ata Mohammad Noor and praised him for his leadership and good governance. Finally, Gen Ata Mohammad Noor spoke about the jihad time and the hard periods he had gone through. Talking about the current situation, he said he would always serve his countrymen, defend his homeland and stand by his people. He said the reason he joined the jihad and resistance was to implement democracy and freedom. At the end of the event, high-ranking government officials, elders, traders and intellectual figures presented several appreciation letters, certificates and honorary medals to Gen Ata Mohammad Noor.
