Gene Florence wrote in his first Glassware Pattern Identification - TopicsExpress

Gene Florence wrote in his first Glassware Pattern Identification Guide that the Federal Glass company made the decoration known as Lovebird & Grape. Hazel Weatherman wrote in her Supplement to Colored Glassware of the Depression Era 2 that Bartlett-Collins was responsible for the decoration known as Lovebird & Grape. When I got to that point in my research, I wanted to get it right. Then I found this 10 cake plate with the pattern in question and it is the #90 handled cake plate shown in the Bartlett-Collins catalog. This plate was what I used in Book 1 to show the close-up of the decoration. Look closely at this photo and you can see just how horrible the quality is for this decoration. This plate is in a box ear marked for the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia. Quality like this should be in a museum. S&C photo courtesy Beverly Spieth.
