General Manager of Planning and Operations with the City of Williams Lake resigns Geoff Goodall, who has been with the City for eight years, has resigned from his position as General Manager of Planning and Operations with the City of Williams Lake. He and his family are reportedly moving to Nanaimo. Goodall held the position of Acting CAO for a year while the City was in search of a full-time person for that position. Goodall is one of several senior staff members to resign in favour of accepting lateral or similar positions in other BC communities in the recent past. In May of 2014, the Citys Director of Municipal Services resigned. On June 5, 2014, the City of Williams Lake began advertising for the full-time position: civicjobs.ca/101.asp?jobpostingid=23447#.U9CYELEs0tU In September of 2012, then Chief Administrative Officer Brian Carruthers also resigned from the City of Williams Lake for a lateral employment opportunity in the Kootenay region of British Columbia. In 2011, the reported salary for the Director of Municipal Services was $99,960. The salary for the General Manager of Planning and Operations with the City of Williams Lake was reported to be $115,300 in 2012.
