General Motors Co. says it will spend $200 million at two suburban Detroit plants for new vehicle production. The Detroit automaker announced Friday that it will invest $160 million at the Orion Assembly plant in Orion Township for tooling and equipment. The Pontiac Metal Center in Pontiac will receive $40 million for new dies. GM says no new jobs will be created but the Oakland County plants have gotten significant financial boosts from the automaker in recent years. The announcement brings the total investment at the two plants to $775 million since 2010.
