General Muhammadu Buhari 2015: If you are still making noise about the age of GMB then the youths and young elites that has been tested and un-trusted, on which majority are under EFCC/ICPC investigation has done something bad to your brain.... AGE MY FOOT.......... Those referring to Gen Muhammadu Buhari, that a candidate above the age of 60 is not suitable and too old to meet the demands of the presidential office should be referred to America, Britain and Canada— the countries we look up to for democratic norms, principles, inspiration and example. Harry S. Truman, America’s 33rd President came to office in 1945 at the age of 61 years. Zachary Taylor, America’s 12th President was 65 years when he came to office, while Ronald Reagan, the 40th President was 70 years when he was inaugurated in 1981. In Britain, Arthur Neville Chamberlain, Prime Minister in 1937/1940 was 68 years when he assumed office, while Benjamin Disraeli, Prime Minister in 1868 and1874/1880, who acquired the Suez Canal for the country, was 64 years when he came to office. In Canada, Sir John J.C. Abbott, Prime Minister in 1891/1892 was 70 years on election into office, while SirMackenzie Bowell and Sir Charles Tupper, Prime ministers in 1894/ 1896 and 1897 respectively where 71 and 75 years old when they came to office. In the French Fourth Republic, President Vincent Auriol was 72 years old in 1947 when he took his oath of office, while his successor Rene Coty was 67 years in 1954 when he was sworn into office. In Italy, Silvio Berlusconi was three times (non- consecutive) Italian Prime Minister, he was re-elected in 2008 at the age of 72 and left office at the age of 75 in 2011. Still on Italy, Mario Monti who succeeded Berlusconi btw (2011-2013) was 70 yrs. Back in Africa, Nelson Mandela of blessed memory of South Africa was 76 yrs when he became president in 1994. Alassane Outtara of Cote d’Ivoire was 69 yrs of age in 2011 when he became the president (Now 72 yrs). In August 2012, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe was re-elected at the age of 89. In Nigeria, Chief Obafemi Awolowo of blessed memory was above 73 yrs when he contested the office of the president in 1983 general elections that he narrowly lost to Shagari. We need an incorruptible, honest, sincere, and decisive man irrespective of his age, who knows majority of these cartels/Cabals to clean the system and nurture brilliant youths to take over. AND THAT MAN IS BUHARI. OBJ declared that Gen Buhari is an upright man and integrity early in early 2012 because he knows him better than any other Nigerians as both has worked together during their military career. Nigerian problems are beyond an inexperience young man who is not well prepared. TO GOD BE THE GLORY...
