General Nakar Invasion General Nakar is the Northernmost - TopicsExpress

General Nakar Invasion General Nakar is the Northernmost Municipality of Quezon province. It is bounded on the North by the Municipality of Dingalan, Aurora, on the East by Polillo Strait, on the South by the Municipalities of Real and Infanta, Quezon and on the West by the province of Rizal, Bulacan and Nueva Ecija. It is the largest municipality of Quezon province. At exactly 3:00AM of May 03, we (Mary Wency Refugio, Alma Alforque, Cherrie Menthol and Rachelle Ann Ramos Capistrano) left Manila on a rented van and took the Famy-Real-Infanta road. Our driver, Arnel, was kind enough to stop the van at some point of the journey to give us some time to take pictures but we were so sleepy and lazy to get out so we just told him to drive along and get us to our destination - barangay Pamplona, General Nakar as soon as possible. At 6:30AM we are already at Infanta market buying fresh fish for our lunch and dinner. We also bought some boiled sweet corn on the cob and some purple-colored local fruits and watermelon along the road to barangay Pamplona. Shortly after 7:00AM we arrived at Maders Garden Resort in barangay Pamplona, General Nakar and the owner Ate Teo Vargas warmly greeted us and escorted us together with her siblings Ate Au and Ate Dolores to our cottage. Hey, i spotted a cute, bubbly little boy tagging along and i learned its his birthday, Eman happy birthday! We are so lucky to have the resort all by ourselves, we were given the liberty to choose which cottage to stay in. It comes with complete cooking facilities, restroom and a guard dog named taba. Yes, the dog kept guard during our stay and was super nice to us, maybe because we have the same tagname. And what really impressed us is the extra warm welcome coupled with serving of boiled eggs, sandwich and coffee. I think Ate Teo was worried that we are already hungry, little did she know that we brought nothing but food, mga takot magutom at pumayat hahaha... But we were so excited of the refreshing sight, cool breeze and the days activity that eating is the least of our priority. Although far-flung i learned there are many tourist attractions in General Nakar. Mountains, beaches, coastal cliffs, rock formations, waterfalls and Tulaog cave are the different attractions to adventure tourist. One of the worlds biggest flower, Raffleasia can be found in the forest of Barangay Pagsangahan. Barangay Pamplona have cottages that can provide lodging if you stay for the night. We stayed at Maders Garden Resort. If you have plans of visiting General Nakar get in touch with Ate Teo Vargas for the accommodation, boat ride, guide and transportation at 0929293323. One of the best-known tourist attraction in General Nakar is Tulaog. A short boat ride away from barangay Pamplona is the impressive Tulaog, which is part of barangay San Marcelino, General Nakar, Quezon. Tulaog coastlines is surrounded by mountainous rock formations, caves, flourishing foliage and refreshing clear waters. From afar Tulaog looks like a sleeping giant. One cave is near the shore and has a very narrow opening that would require some digging and crawling to enter. Our guide, Vincent, warned that if we are to enter the cave, we should get out before the high tide comes because leaving becomes impossible if the opening will be covered with pebbles and sea water. Inside the cave, its very spacious, cold and dark but as soon as your eyes get adjusted to the surrounding you will see a statue of the Virgin Mary and the Sto. Nino affixed on the cave walls and stone altar. Actually the cave was used by the Katutubo as chapel and according to Vincent, flock of devotees visits the chapel during the Holy Week. The shores have small pebbles instead of sand. You can lie on your back and let the waves crash gently on your body for a very relaxing experience. The water is so clear you can see the ocean floor from the surface. Swimming and snorkeling will be very enjoyable activity in Tulaog or the extreme adventurer can do cliff diving. There is no regular boat that brings tourist to Tulaog and in our case we were lucky to know some local folks from barangay Pamplona and if you need a boat ride get in touch with Ate Teo. After exploring the cave, some beach combing and water dipping at Tulaog beach it is now time to go back to our cottage at Maders Garden Resort. We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and enjoying the waves of Pamplona beach. Our energy seemed to be endless because we still had the power to do videoke all night long. While the whole barangay is already sound asleep, we are also busy belting out our not so popular and unfamiliar voices, talo talo na ito, anyway wala naman nakakakilala sa amin hahaha.. The following morning was another adventure for the group. We went beach combing along Pamplona beach. Weve seen some surfers and some guys fishing. Since its a Sunday there are many beach goers. Pamplona beach is roughly 3 kilometers long, covered with brownish sand. There is a prominent rock at one end of the shoreline where some locals do cliff diving, and they call this place Sulok. At Sulok, you will find a clear, cold-water spring several degrees colder than the sea water. Going up the stream you will find a beautiful waterfalls, where we get soaked up after enjoying the warm water of Sulok beach. After the waterfalls adventure we walk back to our cottage to pack up our things because it is now time to say goobye and leave this very relaxing and stress free adventure. So many stories are to be shared about this trip, my memory may not recall them all but will be treasured in my heart forever. Thank you for I was given the opportunity to meet these nice and beautiful people - Ate Teo, Ate Dolores, Ate Au, Ate Cely, Ate Abeth, Vincent, Arnel, Edison and of course the two sweet cutesies Eman and Gab. The trip going back to Manila is another exciting story to tell. Arnel took the Marikina-Infanta road. The scenic journey will passed by several towns of Rizal and province of Laguna, through the sharp turns and blind curves of the Sierra Madre Mountain range. There were various kinds of trees all around, mini falls, rivers and glimpses of Lamon Bay and Polillo Strait. And there was a sign proclaiming: Danger Falling Rocks. It was cool and windy. The journey alone on this road is already a sure treat for the tourist. We stopped at the highest peak of the Sierra Madre Mountain, this place they call little Baguio and had our picture taking. At 7:30PM we are already in Manila. The trip was fun. All in all the journey was great. Its like Welcome Back to Reality after a nice and relaxing get away. General Nakar towns people are very accommodating and very hospitable, special thanks to Ate Teo and her family. The beach is warm, no thrash on the water, uncongested and very tranquil. Until next time. KUDOS!
