Generating Hope in the Midst of Despair After reading Endure Onuns inspiring story, I thought that if programs such as YES receive the attention of government, at least at the local level, the crime rate would be minimized. All the young people who attended our program were given the opportunity to dream and also chase their dreams. YES is a cause for which we have dedicated our lives to pursue with compassion and rational commitment. We will not commit to this progressive ideal if there was no conviction in our spirits that were standing on the bright side of history. We must continue to believe in the dream. Meanwhile, Endures testimony has given empirical validation to the potential of the YES leadership philosophy.
