Genesis Chapter 18: Look, I know these are long, take your time, read it all, there is a lot to learn here for all of us!!!Copy and save it if you must to something else so you can read parts of it all day, if that is what it takes!! I promise you, I keep these as short as I possibly can!!! To those who are reading the whole chapter everyday, I know you are being blessed by the word of God...This is about you, not me,This is about Glory for Jesus, not me!!! 2 Abraham receiveth three Angels into his house. 10 Isaac is promised again. 12 Sarah laughed. 18 Christ is promised to all nations. 19 Abraham taught his family to know God. 21 The destruction of Sodom is declared unto Abraham. 23 Abraham prayeth for them. ....................................................................................................................... 1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; (plain of Mamre, Or, oak grove.)...(The name of the grove of trees is evidently considered as derived from this sheikh or chieftain. The oaks (terebinths) of Mamre where Abraham pitched his tent (Genesis 14:13; Genesis 18:1) are described (Genesis 13:18) 2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, ( three men stood by him, That is, three Angels in man’s shape.)Hebrews Chapter 13:2Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. 3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: (And said, My LordSpeaking to one of them in whom appeared to be most majesty, for he thought they had been men.) 4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: ( wash your feet,For men used because of the great heat to go bare footed in those parts.)John Chapter 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one anothers feet. Washing the Disciples Feet John Chapter 13 : 2 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. ( So it seems to have different meanings here..??Genesis for cooling and the New Testament for serving.... So, Abraham was serving the Angels, as Jesus was teaching His apostles to serve for the greatest is the servant to all...In His Majesty, Jesus came down to set us an example of how we are to show our love for one another.... The pastor is the servant to the flock, and that is okay by me, because I am no special except like you I am a child of the most High God....So we help each other and serve each other as humble servants of the Lord Jesus... CAN I GET AN AMEN ON THIS!!??? ..................................................................................................................... 5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. (for therefore are ye come to your servant. As sent of God, that I should do my duty to you., here we have duty/service again....) 6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. 7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. 8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. (For as God gave them bodies for a time, so gave he them the faculties thereof, to walk, to eat and drink, and such like.) Some will say WHAT??? Yes, all things are possible with our Loving God!! Amen??) So God the Father decides in what form we may see the angels in.... if at all.. We know they are everywhere...They too are kind of like us and are not to be worshiped..They are helpers so to speak, ministering angels to God/Jesus and to us...) 9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. 10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. (according to the time of life, That is when the child shall come into this life. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Sarah, had already gone through the change, That all women go through and could no longer have children.... Wow, all things work to good for those who love God!!! So we see another miracle about to happen...) 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? (shall I have pleasure, or Lust... (Wherefore did Sarah laugh, Sarah knew how the order of nature worked, and so it was very hard for her to believe what God said... She did not get angry at this time, she laughed as it were a joke...)(shall I have lust You see, after a while I guess we lose the lust, look !! Sarah was 100 yrs old!! does anyone even desire to make love in that age?? I do not know but well, we can all use our common sense here...) 13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? (So Sarah thought it impossible for her and Abraham to have a child at their age!!) 14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. (Here the Angel of the Lord repeated what He said in verse 10, confirming by saying twice.. Romans 9:9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son. 15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh. (But the Angel said NO, you did laugh, but this was not held against Sarah.. This was something very hard for Sarah to believe... Perhaps she didnt realize who or what was saying this...??? I mean my mom is in her 80s and for her to get pregnant would be a very big thing, would it not??!! Can we try to imagine at about 100 years old?? 16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way. 17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; ( So this was the Christ, Jehovah the Hebrew word which we call Lord, showeth that this Angel was Christ: for this word is only applied to God.)!!! Now I have not counted but how many times has Christ been talked about so far in Genesis?? Quite a few I would say and we are not even half way thru!! So who says the old testament is not for Christians???? If it has to do with Jesus/God, it has to do with all of us, be we greek, jew or gentile!!! 18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. ( For I know him, He knows that fathers ought both to know God’s judgments, and to declare them to their children. So all generations need to know about these things... ALL GENERATIONS, US INCLUDED!!) 20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. (God speaks after the fashion of men: that is, I will enter into judgment with good advice. He will check it out to see just what is true and talk to others, counsel with others... This is why they go and visit Lot.... Our sins cry for vengeance, though none accuse us. Evem none accuse like satan does....1 John 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. as Abels blood cried out to God when Cain slew Him...) 22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. 23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? ( judgment Righteously.) 26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. ( If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city,God declares that his judgments were done with great mercy, forasmuch as all were so corrupt, that not only fifty but ten righteous men could not be found there, and also that the wicked are spared for the righteous’ sake. So to save some righteous, He/God spares the wicked if it will affect any of the righteouse by doing to them what needs to be done....Did you get that last part?? God the Father will spare the wicked for the righteous sake so as to save and keep safe His Children that love Him!! CAN i GET AN AMEN??!! OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!!) 27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: ( The closer we get to God, the more we see ourself as just dust and ashes... Also, the more humble we become in His presence..the more dose our miserable state appear, Yet He the Almighty Loves us like no other can!!! AMEN!!!!!! 28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. (The Lord Jesus the Christ already knew the shape Soddom and Gahmorra was in, He knew how many would be rightouse already!!) God knows all, He is the only one that does!!! What do you expect, He made all things!!!) 29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for fortys sake. 30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. Wow!! Abraham is really pushing it here, isnt he? But you see, God wants us to talk to Him, to be completely honest and to be ourselves... just to walk the way He wants us to walk, not our ways... 31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twentys sake. ( You see, Abraham was hoping there were so few wicked that he was prying for them, and hoping that none would be destroyed...) 32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for tens sake. (If God refused not the prayer for the wicked Sodomites, even to the sixth request, how much more will he grant the prayers of the godly for the afflicted Church? How much more will He/God do for His children??!! The only answer I can come up with here is everything, as long as it lines up with His will, and we know in our hearts and minds what does and what does not line up!!!) 33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place. ( WOW!! Jesus the Lord was there, talking to Abraham and Abraham talking to the Lord!! Having a regular conversation between them... How awesome is that?? You know, we have the same today as Abraham did.. The Lord wants us to talk to Him as well and He wants us to hear Him when He talks to us!!! We have the access to God the Father because of what Jesus did for us!!! I hope we can all understand this!! Just like you and another person talks, is how we have our conversations with our almighty Father!!!!! He longs to hear us talk to Him.. ) Just talk with full on respect.... Psalms Chapter 100 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he [is] God: [it is] he [that] hath made us, and not we ourselves; [we are] his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. 5 For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations. God bless all who read all of this... at least read the words of God if you want to omit mine, thats okay.. I only go by what the Lord is telling me in His words in the Bible with a gentle shove from the Holy Spirit, if I start going off on something else..:) God is Good All the Time!! Jesus/Yeshua is Lord!! Father God, I thank you for guiding, leading me through these chapters. I thank you for the Holy Spirit working in and through me., Thank you Father..
