Genetically modified food should be labelled. Thats a no-brainer. However, it is also very important for people to really start to get an understanding of what genetic modification actually is: How it works, how diverse the methods are, and what the actual research shows. The fact is that there are some methods which are as innocuous as traditional plant breeding, and there are some methods which have potential to be more dangerous. I am sharing a news article here, but it is only food for thought...its not reasonable to accept or reject the science of genetic modification on the basis of news articles. I am a biologist and have worked in biotech and I am also a regenerative agriculturalist, so I would like it if there were a better informed discussion about this topic rather than just the usual anti- or pro-GM propaganda that both sides antagonistically propagate for political reasons.
