Genuinely having a bit of an emotional time listening to songs on the 9@9 today from the year I started my first ever radio show on Youthcomm Radio. Man, some amazingly daft memories from that time in my life. Hosting with Lauren Cowdery and putting 20p in The Creed Tin so I could play With Arms Wide Open for the second time that week. Those OFCOM-tastic conversations with Tracey Lane, Thomas Lanes unlucky-in-life sister (think Siley Myrus but potentially very offensive). Completely falling to pieces reading an agony column with Tom Lane and Davey Jay (mad props to Melanie May who used to break into incredibly well choreographed dancing) Introducing my e-fed Wrestling friend from college Jamie Malone to the world of radio (I seem to remember asking you about being my co-host whilst we were in my conservatory playing Smackdown for the PS2). Later introducing another Horsemen, Daniel Jackson, to the fold. Doing a 24 hour radio show for charity...then an 89-hour radio show for insanity. The controversy machine that WAS Ryan Appleby. The Pen Of Truth from David Tyrrell. The worlds first Train-station announcement-themed promo from Mike Peters. In 2003 I got to dabble in radio, a medium I have loved for much, much longer. At the time I had no idea what I was doing, and no idea how far it would go. Thankyou for the memories. Holla if ya hear me! * plays Saliva Always *
