Beloved husband of the late Margaret Mazarakos; loving father of Diane Jupp, Linda (Richard) Kerby, and Marie (George) McKay; proud Poulie of Steven (Maria) Zatz, Christine (Juan) Zelaya, Mark (Beth) Zatz, Matthew Jupp, Elaine (Jeff) Bumgarner, Emily (Bradley) Pfeiffer, Kathryn (Christopher) Phillips, and the late Andrew McKay; great-grandfather of 13; devoted son of the late Lazarus and Maria Mazarakos; dear brother of the late Diamonto (the late Peter) Chrones, Jean (the late James Kaporis and George Johanos), Helen (Nick) Koclanis, and Evelyn (the late Herbert) Hurst; fond uncle of Sandra Hurst and George (Virginia) Hurst. George retired as a principal of Lane Tech High School, Chicago and was an active member of the Pan-Laconian Society and Annunciation Cathedral. Visitation Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Thursday morning at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1017 N. LaSalle Blvd. Chicago, IL for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
