Gerakan Youth leader Tan Keng Liang went on a Twitter rampage - TopicsExpress

Gerakan Youth leader Tan Keng Liang went on a Twitter rampage today to exert a guarantee that Negara-Ku wont call for street protests. Twenty policemen injured during Bersih violent street demo 2012. Self-inflict? Why so difficult for Negara-Ku to assure wont repeat? Im not against Negara-Ku if its genuine intention is peace/harmony. So, why cant Ambiga assure Bersih violent street demo wont repeat? Tan tweeted to Ambiga, the former co-chairperson of Bersih. When Ambiga threw the ball back into Tans court asking him to speak to the people who caused it, the Gerakan leader pressed on. Yes, Im scared of the chaos created by violent street demo such as Bersih 2012. I prefer peace in Malaysia. What about you? he tweeted. Ambiga pointed out that the police have in subsequent rallies been very professional hence they (rallies) have been trouble free. Still not satisfied, Tan pressed Ambiga again. No doubt, some Bersih participants want peaceful demo. But some didnt. Just hope you wont allow those hooligans join Negara-Ku, he tweeted, before ending with Have a good day too. Perhaps in time, you will realise peace should not be taken for granted. Politics aside. Both Ambiga and Tan also locked horns over who was worth emulating. Tan said he looked up to former DAP vice-chairperson Tunku Abdul Aziz Rahman as a much wiser man than national laureate A Samad Said, who is also an advisor to Negara-Ku. Ambiga said Samad was her hero, and would win hands down over Tunku Aziz. It was unclear why Negara-Ku has received such a negative reception since its inauguration a week ago. Negara-Ku is coalition of 60 other NGOs, including Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia, Pusat Komas and the Malaysian Indian Action Team (Miat). Ambiga had said Negara-Ku was aimed at opposing the hidden agenda of some quarters out to hike up racial and religious rhetoric in the country, especially since the 13th general election last year. s.m5.malaysiakini/news/268991.html
