Gerry writing for Campbell: Campbell slipped coming out of the throne room in his man cave. It has a 6-8 inch step up (or down, in this case) and his house shoes are old with hardened plastic soles. I have been meaning to throw those damned things away for a long time. He did not actually fall; he just slid down the door to the floor (his version.) In the living room, I heard a noise and the cat came running through like her tail was on fire. He has a spiral fracture of the tibia just an inch or so above the ankle, a nice clean break which should heal without problems if he behaves himself. He and I, Nicolle and Neal went to the emergency room last night. They put a splint on it with instructions to keep off it, keep it elevated, and get to the orthopedic doctor as soon as the swelling goes down. He has an appointment for Monday morning. He is now enthroned in the living room on his recliner with the foot propped up on pillows. He has all the stuff he needs within reach and Neal should be by around noon to get his Rx for pain filled and help him get to the bathroom. I am keeping him hydrated, made him a good breakfast this morning and loaned him some of my pain pills, of which I am needing fewer anyway. The house shoes are in the trash. I seriously doubt we are going out of town for the TG holiday. Of course, he vacillates between being macho and a great big baby. I am doing okay, dont have an appointment until the 25th.
