Get Down on It is a 1981 song by American funk/R&B/pop band Kool & The Gang. It was originally recorded on the album Something Special in 1981. The song reached number 10 on the Billboard charts in early 1982, displaying some of the characteristics of a blend of pop and funk, with the title of the song repeating continuously. The song entered the UK charts on 19 December 1981 on the record label De-Lite and reached number 3, their highest charting hit in the UK at that time. It spent a total of 12 weeks in the charts. Ten years later, it was re-released in the UK charts on the Mercury label but only charted for one week at number 69.
