Get ready for an exciting 30 hours of WEATHER!! We will show you how storms form and then mature... As we mentioned last night this storm would be quite a blizzard if we were in February... Mark your calendars 59 days from today- this storm will return....will it return as a snow storm?? The upper dynamics are moving across the Central Rockies as we speak- 130-150kt winds at around 18000 ft. As the upper dynamics a Lee side trough will develop in SW KS / NW OK around 4pm today and rapidly intensify. As it intensifies it will slow down. The storm eventually closes of over S Central KS around 4am Monday morning., While this storm is intensifying, moisture draw is increasing from the South- this will prime the pump for another heavy rain event. Once the Storm reaches NE OK Monday morning it begins to move North slowly- all along dropping lots of moisture. Take a look at the images below that will show you the progression. As the storm reaches its maximum strength Monday- Severe storms break out East/Southeast ahead of the storm- we could be looking at a outbreak type day in the Mid South- Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee with Severe storms including Tornadoes. Our main concern here in Kansas will be excessive rainfall from late today through Monday....a SLIGHT potential of a strong storm with hail and high winds. **The Royals game looks questionable for Monday night.
