Gethsemane prayers 1 Matthew 26:38-40 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” 39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” 40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Beloved if you look at the events that were happening you can understand the depth and seriousness of the warfare that Jesus Christ was fighting as he made this prayer. We can see that in this battle, He asked these 3 disciples to stand with Him in prayer but they failed Him. They did not seem to understand the battle being fought by Jesus thats why they slept. There comes a time when trouble, temptations, sorrow, trials, tribulations, rejections be it in life or marriage, and nothing seems to move, and you are in a desparate place and every one seems to be away. Example, it was painful for me that someone a widow in her times of need asking an inlaw to put a signature as next of kin for the husbands pension, to be processed but he refused and ignored but these are people who would say maiguru when the brother was alive. A time comes in spiritual warfare when you wonder why God is Silent and if God is still on your side. Your closest friends seem to abadon you, your relatives shun you and live you to go through the trials by yourself in your time of desperation not because they want to but because they also have their own problems to look into. You will be alone, with God, and satan the wicked fallen angel will supervise your trials. This is your gethsemane. So as we prepare to pray, focus on getting this corrected. If you have not already made God your best friend by repenting, the warfare we are doing in this series will not work. If you still sin and fornicate, get drunk, lie, cheat, party, club, gamble, womanize then you are definately not a candidate of victory in this series. You need to be 110 % holy in this battle as you ask God to arise and let His will be done. Prayer Points - Thank You Lord for making me more than a conqueror in the fierce battle against the adversaries of my soul in Jesus name - every satanic assignment programmed to distract and overwhelm my divine helpers at my hour of need, scatter unto desolation in the name of Jesus. Envious powers of secretly planning to snare and to smear my glorious testimonies, BE OPENLY disgraced BY Fire in the name of Jesus. My Father make me what you want me to be in Jesus name Amen
