Getting pretty sick of shows inserting Red, White, and Blue rhetoric. State of Affairs, seems to produce an unending source of biased right-wing, USA is right no matter what rhetoric, a one-sided thought bubble, with no one, no character on it to try to pop it, or give the other side. They arrested a professor, for instance, who was teaching radical Muslim groups, because one of his students went whacko. They took their share of swipes at him, even though he was innocent of anything but actually running a charity. Then there was the bit about Abraham, a character on Forever, who got his draft notice. His parents didnt want him to go, but he stated Its an honor, to fight for something you believe in? There was little discussion of anything about Vietnam, why we were in there, why he believed in killing 2-3 Asians in Vietnam, Cambodia, and other adjoining countries, because they dont think like we do. The message? Comply. Go fight. Dont be doin no thinkin man, just join up and go. Lets not talk about the divisive, actual history of the time, when thousands were resisting this unjust war, that was proved the wrong choice, in the post war years. If youre going to add politics, lets try to do a little better job of showing both sides, not just slandering anyone who doesnt buy in with everything they own, to every policy choice American governments make. Your writers do us a disservice. Maybe just focus on the plot, and stop inserting the political grandstanding, trying to get people to join up to fight for the rich, and their corporations.
