Getting ready to read, In the Garden of Beasts, by Erick Larson which is set in 1933 in Berlin, when William E. Dodd became Americas first ambassador in Hitlers Germany. I read Erik Larsons, The Devil in the White City, several years ago and enjoyed his method of writing historical events more as reported events. When I was young, and first married, I met several people from my husbands culture who had the identifying tattoos on their arms. They never talked about their experiences, but, with the rise of each new group which clamors about taking extreme measures and who loudly hate and denounce the other, (no matter which country or where located,) I feel the necessity of rereading about this time, so it is not forgotten how easy it is for a people to turn into beasts.
