Getting ready to set up the booth at the Evans Environmental/ conservation Fair going on today from 9-2. I was invited by 2 of my Democratic friends and sworn in 2 years ago as the Town of Evans Climate Coordinator. The reason they asked me was because of the work I spearheaded on the Eden-Evans center road project reconstruction...not because of my views on Climate Change or the old Global Warming which you all know about. Given that opportunity and my views I humbly asked for some time to make that decision. Within those days I had an epiphany which was this: Although my belief is that the Global Warming leaders lied about the math, although weve seen a cooling trend for a little over a decade; To think that we are not having an effect or a footprint on the world because of our actions today is just as insane. I would like to leave this place a little intact for our kids. As I told the committee at our first meeting.. Im not Climate crazy, Im climate smarter. So I did accept the invitation and became the Climate Coordinater and we have been learning and doing quite a bit. We (The Town of Evans) were the first to take the pledge of Climate Smart Communities in the area and have come a long way. To learn more come down to the Evans Center Fire Hall and learn more.
