Getting really excited about this weekend. The Richmond Symphony - TopicsExpress

Getting really excited about this weekend. The Richmond Symphony is performing my all time favorite work: Mahlers Resurrection Symphony (the 2nd symphony). It is very rarely performed because of the forces required: 100 piece orchestra, huge choir, etc. For those of you who know my email address, it is from this work that it came. When I was first starting out of the closet, I needed a private email and I thought of this one line from the finale: bereite dich zu leben. Prepare yourself to live. And that has been my motto every day since. It has been an amazing, incredible journey out. Living in authenticity is so utterly remarkable. Discovering who I am, what kind of man I am. Finding the great love of my life Because I was preparing myself to live. And live I have. If you dont know this work, I hope youll take 8 minutes and listen to the very end. The most glorious 8 minutes in all of music. The cry to bereite dich zu leben comes at the 2:50 mark. Look at the ecstatic face of Lenny Bernstein at the end. Sheer joy. Im listening to this work (90 minutes long) about 3 or 4 times a day for the r est of the week. It never gets old. Hope you will take the time to listen if you can. And turn up the volume. Itll be worth it. https://youtube/watch?v=tf5fM1i3MGQ
