Ghana (and other African countries) should Establish some sort of Institute for Small Scale Industries where Men and Women would be Trained in The AArts& Scinces of Industry.. Example is Aluminum Pot Industry.. The People that cast Aluminum Pots in Ghana on smal scale dont know about Quenching (quenching is rapid cooling of melted or heated netal in a liquid).. By Quenching unique crystals are formed in the netal, increasing its strenght and ductability.. Another Industry in Ghana that can benifit from such as Institute would be LEATHER TANNERY and Shoe Makers as in Shoe Manufacturers.. Shoe Leather that we make in Ghana is an Old Gonja Technology.. and those Leather just cant compete with Modern Leather.. so we need to bring Experts from Italy where Modern Leather tannery has it Roots..let learn to make Italian Quality Leather.. Also typically to make a Shoe,, Shoe Manufacturers uses a Device called last and the Last has a form of the shoe to be manufactured,,helping form the form. And architectural intergrity of the shoe.. I have visited several SMALL SCALE SHOE MANUFACTURERS In Ashanti Region, Eastern Region and Greater Accra Region of Ghana and none knows what last is.. Again METALURGY.. or metal making.. both India and Pakistand has Small Foundries that pre-dates Indias Colonial Era.. They produce a form of Steel called wootz.. Which is manufactured by adding about 3% Carbon to the Iron Ore being Melted..Typical Steels contains 1% Carbon..However Wootz SteelL is Extremel Hard and Brittle, making it extremely suitable for use as a plow and other Agricutural Implements..We can teach our Craftment and Women how to make Wootz Steel..we can even build the Foundy and smelter ourselves after we learn the basics.. Again Pot making.. Anodized Aluminumm makes most Beautiful Pots, the kind our mothers loves to cook delicious soups and banku for us.. If we were to manufacture anodized Aluminum Pots in Ghana we will Create thousands of Jobs in Ghana.. i remember many years ago in Ghana, one Mr.Kwame Nyanteh (Susana Nyantehs father) tried to set up Fishing Net factory.. He built huge Structures and after a Period of Political upheavals nothing came out of it.. we nust revive that company and even go a step further by Teaching our Fisher how to manufacture those fishing nets on a small Scale (like how Kente is made).. Agriculture again.. Yam.. very nice food.. I mean African Yam,..nice when boiled with servings of Corned Beef Stew..but African Yams dont store well.. It has a short shelf life..SOLUTION …? Simple.. Peel the Yam, wash it blanch itd in boiling water for 5 minutes..Remove water..dry it and it can be stored for 6 months to 2 years..by adding Citric Acid, Sodium Sulphite and Monoglycerides The Yam retains it whiteness no no kokonte after-taste and the Yam can be reboild and no one can telll its a re-constituted Yam.. We need to HUSTLE more.. we Need BETTER Political Leadership and I dont mean President Mahama or Nana Akuffo_Ado, but I mean a different mind set..Ooce our Politicians EMBRACE GOD They will NO Need for bribes as they will be more interested in doing the Right thing for our people than appearing to do the right thing BECAUSE God sees our.. INTENTIONS and Actions and we cant fool God
