Ghanacoll School Gate Project Secondary school gates have come to symbolize more than just a physical barrier preventing intruders from entering prohibited grounds or for containing precocious students who might accidentally wonder off campus. Gates make a statement, Period! They symbolize power, authority, prominence and a can get you guessing as to who lives and works and learns behind it if that is all the access you have. The Ghanacoll school gate built in the 1960’s was a monument that did just that back in the day. “Komote, a tall, huge, chisel-bodied man with a grip like a vise (at least, so the seniors from the 70’s will tell you) complemented the Ghanacoll gate with an imposing character that not only made you feel secure behind the gate but well accomplished when you left a graduate of Ghanacoll. Komote’s story is untold, and while his memory fades, so is his once all important statement - his Gate! The fading character of our school gate is telling a different story today- a story that can only be told by showing you what other schools are saying about themselves with their school gates.....Read on!
