It was formed in 1937 and has given birth to other teams like Kaizer Chiefs and Jomo Cosmos. The team is now widely known all over the world. Pirates is the first club since the inception of the Premier Soccer League in 1996 to have won three major trophies in a single season back to back (Double Treble).
