“Ghostbusters” is next Summer movie at Grand FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 19, 2013) – The comedy classic “Ghostbusters” is the next offering in the Grand Theatre’s summer film series, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 28. The popular film from 1984 stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis as unemployed parapsychology experts who set up a ghost removal service in New York City. The hit movie, directed by Ivan Reitman, also stars Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, and Rick Moranis. Made on a budget of about $32 million, the movie grossed nearly $240 million over the next year and a half. Casting proved to be a challenge; among actors originally envisioned for starring roles were John Candy, John Belushi and Eddie Murphy. “Ghostbusters” is rated PG. Tickets are $6.
