Giants. Again. Incredible. This never gets old. Travis Ishikawa? Three-run homer in the 9th to win it? That is now officially a San Francisco Hollywood ending. (No Dodgers allowed.) Those magical even number years swirl in my dreams: 2010. 2012. Now 2014. I have visions of the 49ers Dynasty of the 1980s. And guess who was on the field to kick-off last nights game? Yes, Joe Montana, in the house. Hunter Pence may have believed in this all along. I had my doubts. The Giants looked like the best team in baseball for the first month or two of the season, and then there was that long collapse mid-summer. But hey, they worked their way back. And what a wild glorious ride in the playoffs -- taking down the poor Pirates, the highly touted Nats, the vaunted Cards. Underdogs every time. I hate to spoil their party in Kansas City -- the Royals are definitely a speedy, spunky team this year and they havent been to the Big Show in 29 years. But the wild card Giants could...go...all...the...way.
