Gideon - And The Power of Tessa Hey everyone, Thank you so much for all your kind words, love, prayers and support for Gideon. I want you to know I am reading each of your comments and your advice and thoughtfulness is much appreciated. I dont have any new news today, other than Gideon is comfortable, wagging his tail, giving kisses and receiving NEW/Different treatments (yes, western and eastern medication. And NO MORE antibiotics because theyre making him worse at the moment). The next 7-10 days will be quite telling. We will run new and exhaustive diagnostics (of course with minimal pain for him). We have some great brains on this. Everyone is vested. Everyone is hoping for a miracle. And everyone is trying to do what they feel is right for Gideon. Thats what makes this so hard, but also so awesome. Every dog should be so lucky. I named our sweet boy Gideon because in the bible it means Mighty Warrior. The moment I rescued him, I knew he needed to be a fighter if he was going to stand a chance at getting healthy. Our mighty warrior has fought so hard, but he does need a miracle. For some reason, the dogs I am asked to rescue, are often the dogs who require a miracle to survive. I dont know why these are the dogs that come my way, but when this happens, my mind goes back to Tessa and all that she taught me. Those of you who have been following me for a few years remember Tessas 5 month journey - from the brink of death to awe inspiring happiness. Tessa was sick... So sick that every doctor said she didnt stand a chance at living any quality of life. One specialist even told me Dont waste your rescue dollars. But I had faith. I had ONE veterinarian who believed in Tessa and in me. And I had one heck of a village rooting for us. As I look at Gideon and all the sickness his body and mind is riddled with, of course I go right back to Tessa and her miracle. I had asked Tessa to have faith in me, but also tell me if or when the time to let go had come. I have asked the same of Gideon. He has let us know that for now, he still wants to fight. And we WILL be his might army. Tessas journey inspires me daily and helps me believe in miracles. My hope today is that a little of Tessas courage and a lot of her magic can be transferred to our sweet Gideon. So, today I would like to ask our village to watch Tessas famous rescue video with me and remember that miracles DO happen every day. Please keep the love, the prayers and the magic alive for Gideon.
