Gina, you would definitely not enjoy the actual film Midnight Cowboy. In fact, I dont think anyone does. :-) A Song for Saturday Night! While I know I often say, “This is one of my all-time favorites,” this one is BIG on my list of “all-time favorites.” Musical genius piano duo Arthur Ferrante and Louis Teicher scored a Top 10 hit in late 1969 with their cover of composer John Barry’s Grammy award-winning instrumental theme from the 1969 picture “Midnight Cowboy,” starring Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman. I have not seen that film, but I have read the synopsis of it and know it was raunchy, depressing flick and X-rated in its time. Never mind the picture. This song has a haunting, beautiful, rich sound, made perfect by Vinnie Bell’s innovative “water sound” guitar that stands in splendidly for John Barry’s original harmonica lead. ~ Gina Miller
