Gino Lombardi ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IN MALTA When it comes to the subject of illegal migrants I sincerely wonder how some individuals have the temerity to refer to others using adjectives such as: Hypocrites and comedians. But I presume that people who are ill informed about the matter make these kind of arguments. I wrote a novel about the subject and did a lot of research before and during my writings, (PANIKU). Let me give a slight view of things to come. It is scientifically proven that with the rate of influx illegal immigrants are arriving on our shores within 12 years there will be and astounding 55,000. Correct, FIFTY FIVE THOUSAND more logistical problems for the government; mouths to feed; provide health care for… etc, etc. Any idea about the amount of revenue these would require? How restricted the open spaces in this country will be? How many taxes will have to be imposed on us to make up for these extra expenses? Do you realize that the culture these people hold are totally different to ours and that they tend to impose it one the country and people that harbored them? Example: This morning I heard the BBC News and a Muslim who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, living in England claimed that the cannot practice the Ramadan properly because the government did not provide him with a minder to feed him after sunset and before sunrise. The proverb, ‘When you’re in Rome do as the Romans do’ is not applicable for these people. On the other hand I wish to learn how many of the people who claim to be kind and caring people volunteer to keep any of them in their homes. One word of advice: THINK of your children AND YOUR COUNTRY.
